... Isolated thunderstorms possible over the San Joaquin Valley and the foothills today...
A Pacific storm system moving south along the California coast will bring cold unstable air to the central California interior. There will be the potential for isolated thunderstorms across the central and southern San Joaquin Valley... and the adjacent foothills... today... especially this afternoon.
Thunderstorms may produce locally heavy rain... gusty wind... small hail and lightning. Funnel clouds cannot be ruled out. People in the central and South Valley and the foothills should be alert for any thunderstorms in your vicinity. Remember... if you can hear thunder... the storm is close enough to pose a threat. If a thunderstorm approaches your location... seek shelter in a sturdy building... and away from windows. Avoid trees or other isolated tall objects that can be targets for lightning.
